Retro is officially back in. How do I know? Clothes, cars and other fads long forgotten are suddenly cool again. Everyone and their mother is doing it. But the surest sign is that companies and corporations are on the bandwagon. And they're usually the ones who are last to the party.
Now there's nothing wrong with retro. In fact, there are plenty of examples where retro is awesome. Take for example some of the throwback jerseys in sports; more specifically, some in the NHL. The Vancouver Canucks and the Buffalo Sabres are in their respective 40th anniversary seasons. They also both have great retro jerseys going on.
However, I think the Canucks missed a great opportunity to go all out and do retro right. What do I mean? Well, during the preseason the Sabres played a game against the Flyers where there were no advertisements on the boards. Sounds rather trivial, but I can't remember the last time I saw an NHL game without advertisements all over the rink.
The game looked amazing. Don't believe me? Check it out:
That is how you do retro.
